Introduction for Film People

I’m Zhixuan, currently a Studio Art and Film senior at Lawrence. I was born and raised in China but currently living on campus. Other than my interests in art and film, I’m also interested in architecture, space, languages, etc. Although the key factor that leads me to this class is for fulfilling general requirements, I wanted to choose something that interests me. A class that combines film, race, and gender sounds like a good choice. In Film Theory and Criticism class, I became interested in gender and non-Western topics in film and even wrote my final paper on the relationship between gender and race in film. Overall, I’m really looking forward to the class.
